From, A Blessed Life, written using 7 Memories: Partnering to Write a Memoir.
Trish and I have been friends for 23 years since she first moved to San Diego and stayed downstairs for a few months. Our friendship has ripened in a wonderful way. We live separate lives but every time we get together, there’s never a gap.
I always say that Trish comes over to eat junk food. We love our popcorn and wine dinners. We do jigsaw puzzles together. It’s a wonderful way to be together without having to talk all the time. When I get tired of a puzzle, she picks me up and gets me going again. She does the frame and I do the sorting by color. So we don’t get in each other’s way. Also, we play Rummikub, like my mother who was a great game player. I’m so proud of everything she’s accomplished—her friends and relationships and how she manages her life. I could always count on her—our friendship is always there.
